I am wiped out and don't have the energy to type a long post. However, I did want to share something a student said in my class the other day. He was talking to another student while working on a writing assignment (creating a fun myth).
Boy: "Hey... you know what?"
Boy 2: "What?"
Boy: "We're in English. Sometimes I forget that Mrs. Brown's class is English."
Boy 2: "How can you forget that?"
Boy: "Because I have fun in this class. And English normally isn't fun."
=) That made me happy to hear.
They had some fun, creative myths that they wrote. Maybe soon I'll type one in here so you can read a tad of their creativity.

small changes
So, we made a few small changes in the house a few days ago. We took down our Christmas tree and Jeff, randomly, decided we needed to change things up. He spontaneously gets in moods where he wants to move things around. It's his way of coping with our house. I really like our house, but he is ready for when we can move. I understand. There are some definite downsides to our place. Luckily, moving things around appeases him =) Plus, he normally has good ideas.
This time around, we moved our small bookcase to the corner window area. We used to have a randomly too-big end table that didn't quite fit in that space. I really think it looks great over there - and since we didn't use the end table, it was the perfect change.
This bookcase used to be beside our entertainment area. The issue now was that the wall (where this piece went) suddenly looked quite empty and bland.
Jeff stood, staring at the space for a few minutes before I asked what on earth he was thinking. He turned around and had the brilliant idea of moving a certain piece of furniture into that space.....
Ta da! This was in our guest room. It's part of a set, but we thought the seat looked good enough on its own. I was impressed!
Then, to complete the look, I added the Dirty Santa present I won at a part (canvas art). Amazing =) I really like it! We have a place to put on shoes, a place to store shoes, a place for random sweaters/gloves/etc.
I'm quite proud. The hubs did good.
